This past weekend the IBJJF held it’s annual European Championships in Lisbon Portugal. Among the stand-outs were Team Lloyd Irvin‘s Jonathan “JT” Torres, who took Silver in the black belt Lightweight division, Willie Leonard (Gold in brown belt Super-heavyweight and Bronze in the Open), and Purple belt rising star Keenan Cornelius, who took Gold in his weight and the Open.
Eric Desmarais, second from the left, of Paramount BJJ in Downingtown (Team Lloyd Irvin PA), competed at blue belt, winning his first 11-0 before being eliminated in the second round by points. However, Eric was selected to represent the USA in the National Team Tournament, where his victory helped win the GOLD for the US!
Up next Eric will be headed to Texas on February 10th along with Paramount BJJ teammates Kevin MacMullen and Ed Westermark, to compete at the IBJJF’s Houston Open.
