Team Lloyd Irvin showed up to Boston with about 20 competitors- less than half of the other teams (all of which were from Boston), yet we still managed to place 2nd in the team standings for the IBJJF Boston International Open.
Thanks to performances from black belts JT Torres (Gold), DJ Jackson (Silver), and Brad Court (Gold) as well as the students from Crazy 88 in Baltimore and Paramount BJJ in Downingtown PA we were able to surprise the locals and come home with a team trophy.

Paramount BJJ instructor Brad Court receives the trophy for Team Lloyd Irvin
Paramount BJJ was responsible for 43 out of the 101 points Team Lloyd Irvin accumulated, despite only having 10 competitors. Next weekend the Paramount BJJ competition team heads to California for the 2012 IBJJF Nationals with 7 competitors looking to achieve the title of National Champion.
The fact is there is NO other team in Chester County PA producing the level of competitors in Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing and MMA that Paramount BJJ is. Come see for yourself for a Whole Month FREE.
For a professional kick boxer, the highest level of competition is at the K-1 championships. The K-1 tournament has hosted some of the most amazing fights and launched the careers of many UFC fighters, such as heavyweight Alistair Overeem.
Paramount Muay Thai instructor and pro fighter Justin Greskiewicz was recently added to the September 8, 2012 K-1 U.S. Grand Prix tournament, an honor bestowed him due to his #1 WBC ranking and willingness to fight anyone, anywhere.
Justin will be competing at 154lbs, which is about 10lbs OVER his normal weight class. But as with most true champions, Justin never lets an opportunity pass him by.

This past Friday night, Team Lloyd Irvin fighter Wilson Reis fought Cody Stevens in the main event at Philadelphia’s Matrix Fights MMA event. He won a lopsided unanimous decision to improve to 14-4 overall.
Wilson was at Paramount BJJ two weeks ago working with the students on some of his favorite techniques, and of course we were all there to support him.
Wilson came out immediately throwing combinations with his hands and even a nice high kick that was partially blocked by his opponent. Overwhelming Stevens with strikes Wilson dropped down and grabbed his legs, lifting him up and slamming him to the canvas.
On the ground Stevens was game but again over-matched, as Reis threw strikes and pressured to pass for the entire round. This sequence repeated itself until the third round when Wilson mounted and began throwing big elbows. Stevens hung out but lost the decision.

This weekend’s UFC 148 features one of the biggest fights in the history of the sport: The rematch between champion Anderson Silva and the man who almost beat him two years ago, Chael Sonnen.
But before that Team Lloyd Irvin’s Mike Easton will be fighting veteran Ivan Menjivar on the main card.
“The Hulk” currently stands at 12-1 (2-0 UFC) with wins over TUF Champion Jon Dodson, former WEC Champion Chase Beebe, and TUF veteran Josh Ferguson. His only loss came via ref stoppage after his fore arm was shattered by his opponents kick.
Easton is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and pushes a furious pace and has an unbreakable will, this is going to be a fantastic fight.
UFC 148 Main Card:
Anderson Silva vs Chael Sonnen II
Forrest Griffin vs Tito Ortiz III
