This past Friday night, Team Lloyd Irvin fighter Wilson Reis fought Cody Stevens in the main event at Philadelphia’s Matrix Fights MMA event. He won a lopsided unanimous decision to improve to 14-4 overall.

Wilson was at Paramount BJJ two weeks ago working with the students on some of his favorite techniques, and of course we were all there to support him.

Wilson came out immediately throwing combinations with his hands and even a nice high kick that was partially blocked by his opponent. Overwhelming Stevens with strikes Wilson dropped down and grabbed his legs, lifting him up and slamming him to the canvas.

On the ground Stevens was game but again over-matched, as Reis threw strikes and pressured to pass for the entire round. This sequence repeated itself until the third round when Wilson mounted and began throwing big elbows. Stevens hung out but lost the decision.
