Uniform Guidelines 2023

In order to provide a training environment that is clean, safe, professional and respectful, please follow the guidelines below.

Gi

Gi top and bottom need to be the same color.
Colors: White and royal blue are preferred, but black and gray are ok. No other colors or designs.
Keep the gi clean, odorless and without rips or tears.

(Lil Ninjas, Youth, Teens: Same as above, however since several of the girls like to wear pink gis we will make that exception for the kids.)

No-Gi

Grappling or MMA shorts should be worn. Full-length leggings, or spats, are acceptable (Men: wear shorts over-top of leggings). The shorts must reach at least mid-way down the thigh, with no metal or plastic that could hurt a training partner, and with no pockets.

Rash guards must be worn for all no-gi classes and training sessions. They can be short or long sleeve, and should cling to the body to avoid getting caught in hands and feet.

Ranked rash guards are not required. However, do not wear a rash guard with a colored belt rank (ex: blue, purple, or brown) unless it’s the rank you hold. White and black are OK for anyone since they are such prominent colors.

Muay Thai & Boxing

Wear MMA, Muay Thai or athletic shorts. Full-length leggings, or spats, are acceptable (Men: wear shorts over-top of leggings). Shorts must reach at least mid-way down the thigh. No sweatpants, khakis, jeans or other pants or shorts. Wear a shirt or rash guard that covers the waistband of the shorts and has sleeves.

Instructors

In addition to the above, instructors of no-gi, muay thai, and boxing classes need to wear a Paramount shirt or rash guard while on the mats teaching. If you need a new shirt, please let us know.

All classes, all students, all instructors:

Only uniforms can be worn on the mat. In other words: no jewelry, no hats, no street clothes, etc. Nothing with vulgarity, profanity, or politics at the academy – on or off the mats. Let’s keep things positive and family friendly.
