2013 NY Summer Open Results

The IBJJF held the New York Summer Open this weekend, and as always Paramount Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)-out of Downingtown, PA- brought a team of competitors to test their skills.

The team did great, most medaled and ALL gained invaluable experience on their journey to black belt. It’s not easy to appreciate the value of a loss but make no mistake about it, some of the greatest victories are the result of a lesson learned during a loss.

Here are the Gold medalists from the event:

  • Anthony Pacinelli won in the final 2-0 with a sweep in the last minute.
  • Greg Hagner defeated his opponent in the final by choke.
  • Ed Westermark defeated his opponent in the final via points.
  • Head Instructor Brad Court beat his final opponent by advantage.

Kevin MacMullen won Bronze in his weight class and Bronze in the Open.

None of this would be possible without the hard work and dedication of ALL of our students at Paramount. The camaraderie and teamwork is absolutely amazing and continues to produce great results at tournaments and on the mats at our Chester County PA academy.
