They say that just because an athlete is a great competitor, it doesn’t mean he/she is a great instructor or coach. Thankfully, Bruno Frazatto is both. This past Saturday Bruno, along with Wilson Reis, conducted a 3.5 hour seminar at the Paramount BJJ headquarters in Downingtown PA.
The seminar was 2 parts- Gi and No-Gi (with and without the uniform)- and covered Bruno’s favorite high-precentage techniques and his personal gameplan for the ADCC World Championships, which he will compete in this September having won the Brazilian Trials earlier this year.
In the Gi Bruno detailed his method of guard passing from an open guard. He first addressed the basic pass, then covered the opponent’s most common reactions and the counters to those.
In the No-Gi portion Bruno explained his philosphy of the guard and how to attack from the bottom. He showed several sweeps (reversals) and also how to take the opponents back and finish with a choke.
