How are the BJJ Programs Set Up?

At Paramount BJJ our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Program is divided into 3 levels:

  • Basics
  • Intermediate
  • Elite

BASICS

The BJJ Basics curriculum is divided into 27 classes, each class featuring between 2 and 4 specific techniques. There is a heavy emphasis on the most common self-defense scenarios, as well as an introduction into the more sportive techniques. The majority of the class is spent drilling the techniques and reviewing the concept/s that apply to the situation being covered.

INTERMEDIATE

The Intermediate program includes a larger variety of techniques, including positions and moves not covered in the Basics such as leg locks, Judo throws, a larger array of guard passes, and much more. The classes are slightly longer, with anywhere from 30-40 minutes of live training after the technique portion. This program also includes the No-Gi classes.

ELITE

This is an Invitation-Only program, designed for the most hardcore students. Students must be invited to try-out, successfully pass the try-out, and then commit to consistent weekly attendance. The most advanced techniques are taught, the live rounds are even harder, and there is more emphasis on conditioning. Guest instructors are frequently brought in, including MMA fighters from UFC and Bellator, and IBJJF World and Pan American Champions.
