The 2012 IBJJF NY Open is in the books, and once again Team Lloyd Irvin had a phenomenal showing.
Still the ONLY American team to consistently place at the IBJJF tournaments, Team Lloyd Irvin showed up this time missing many of the top competitors. Jonathan “JT” Torres, Jimmy Harbison, DJ Jackson, Frank Camacho, Nyjah Easton, Sijara Eubanks, Keenan Cornelius, Willie Leonard, and many others sat out in preperation for the Brasileiro next week.
Even so, with a strong showing by athletes from Paramount BJJ and Crazy 88 the team made it to the podium. Among the medalists from Paramount were (R to L) Phil Mento, Courtney Caporizzo, Krista Carpenter, and Kevin MacMullen.
