Last weekend’s IBJJF New York Open featured stand-out performances from several of the Team Lloyd Irvin/Paramount BJJ team. None more impressive than those of Krista Carpenter and Courtney Caporizzo.
Both women were competing for the first time at an International event, and both medaled! Krista dominated her division and won Gold, defeating two very tough ladies. Courtney showed vast improvement in her guard passing, winning her first match 3-0. She finished with Bronze, losing to the eventual champion 0-0 by advantages.
