Check out the full results from the Paramount BJJ adult competition team’s trip to the NAGA Philadelphia Championships this weekend:

Kevin MacMullen: GOLD in black belt, GOLD in brown belt (Kevin is a brown belt, but NAGA allows brown belts to enter the black belt divisions)

Screenshot (16)Phil Mento: GOLD in purple belt (Phil is a blue belt, but NAGA allows blue belts to enter purple belt), Silver in No-Gi. Phil won 3 matches and submitted 2 opponents in the purple belt division.

Screenshot (15)Mike Snyder: GOLD in white belt. This was Mike’s first tournament, and at 56 years old it was inspiring to see him step onto the mat to compete.

Screenshot (14)George Carrera: GOLD in No-Gi, Silver in white belt gi. George submitted 5 of the 6 opponents he faced (3 triangles, 2 armlocks).

  • Greg Hagner: GOLD in blue belt. Greg did what Greg does: get on top and smash his opponents. Another solid performance from the 2014 World Silver medalist.
  • Don Powell: GOLD in white belt. Don made his return to competition after over a year and won two matches to reach the top of the podium.
  • Justin Mazzi: GOLD in white belt. In Justin’s first competition, he showed patience and poise as he won both of his matches in impressive fashion.

All in all, very good results from the competitors. With 8 students, we brought home 8 Gold and 2 Silver. Stay tuned for video, including Phil Mento against UFC fighter and Matt Serra purple belt Al Iaquinta.
