Dear Parents,
We are at an exciting time with our Children’s Program, with classes bigger and better than ever- and continuing to grow. Now it’s time to take things to the next level. Here are some of the changes to the program that we will implement beginning Monday, June 4th.
THE TEENS PROGRAM
Now the teenage students can train exclusively with each other and study a curriculum closer to the adult program, so they can progress at a faster rate. This will be a mixed level class, to be held on Monday & Wednesday at 5:45pm and Saturday at 10am on Mat 1 (first training area).
SHIFT IN LIL’ NINJAS & YOUTH PROGRAM AGES
With the addition of the Teens class, we now have 3 age groups for the Children’s programs. This is exciting because it will allow for more specialized curriculums, and will also make for a better instructor-to-student ratio. The classes and ages will be as follows:
- Lil Ninjas: 4-7 years old
- Youth: 8-11 years old
- Teens: 12-16 years old
(While a 12yo is not a teenager, due to the smaller size of the teen class, and the fact that the difference between 8 and 12 is significant, we’ll be including 12 year olds in the teen’s class)
There will likely be some “gray areas” depending upon a child’s physical or emotional development, the fact that some siblings may be in different classes, or your child may be making the move to the next program slightly earlier than anticipated. We are happy to discuss this with parents to make sure the child is in the class that works best for everyone.
The Lil Ninjas and Youth program days and times will not change.
