Re-Opening Paramount BJJ *Updated 7/2

Before detailing the measures we are taking to create the safest environment for you to train in, I want to take a moment to thank all of the members. It has been a challenging few months, full of uncertainty, and the support of the members was incredible.

Feedback from members has been very informative and has played a large role in the process of preparing to reopen. Over 100 members responded to the survey, with 54% indicating that they were comfortable returning to regular training, while 31% responded that they’d be ready to return with some modifications.

In addition, I’ve spoken with physicians and nurses at several hospitals in Chester County and each of them feel confident that Paramount can reopen safely.

Each member has credit for the time they paid for and missed while we were closed which will be added onto the end of your membership agreement. Once we reopen on July 1st credit will no longer be accumulating.

Here are the modifications/new procedures that we will be implementing:

UNIVERSAL SAFETY MEASURES (All BJJ, Muay Thai, Boxing)

  • Taking each person’s temperature upon arrival, via infrared thermometer. Anyone with a temperature over 100.4 degrees cannot enter.
  • Requiring masks be worn by all persons over age 8 unless actively involved in exercise.
  • Changing rooms are temporarily closed. Students need to come dressed for class in gi or training attire. Shoes/keys/water should go directly next to the mat. No gym bags or book bags.
*Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to class.
  • Closing off other areas not needed for classes to reduce unnecessary contact.
  • Mopping the mats several times throughout the day with a bleach solution in accordance with the CDC guidelines.
  • Wiping down all common area surfaces with disinfectant spray and lysol wipes.
  • Placing hand sanitizer throughout the building and by the mats.
  • Keeping garage door and doors by the big mat open whenever possible to create constant airflow, recognized by infectious disease experts to be an important factor in reducing the spread of virus and germs.
  • Temporarily prohibiting spectators (See “Children & Teens Programs” below for exceptions).
  • Temporarily prohibiting visiting students from other academies.

CHILDREN & TEENS PROGRAMS

*If there is something you are unable to do please let us know in advance.

  • For the Lil Ninjas classes we are allowing 1 parent/guardian to be present.
  • For Youth and Teens classes we are asking that parents drop-off and pick-up, but if necessary only 1 parent/guardian is present during class.
*Please come in to sign the new waiver and Covid-19 form on your first day back
  • We would like to avoid the presence of siblings or other family members when possible in order to reduce the number of people in the building.
  • We will be dividing the class into groups with designated training partners and instructors and using both mats whenever possible.

OFFICIAL REOPENING DATE

We will be re-opening on Wednesday, July 1st and running classes on our regular schedule, starting with the 7:30am BJJ Basics class. We will be closed on Saturday, July 4th for the holiday.

Once again thank you to all the members and instructors for your patience, support and feedback!
